Project Summary
Subsurface Dynamics was tasked with determining the optimal future field development plan for the field including the drilling of additional wells and EOR schemes.
CLIENT: Undisclosed
FORMATION: Undisclosed, South America
Scope of Work
Using proprietary data from the Client, Subsurface Dynamics constructed a petrophysical model and performed a natural fracture network Interpretation and Characterization in a structurally complex area. A static model was then constructed and used to history match the dynamic model. Using the history matched model, probabilistic forecasts were created and used for future development planning of wells and EOR water-flood strategies.
Result
- Marketable development plan and resource report was developed to optimize future field development including 20 infill well locations.
- Expected future field performance was quantified in a probabilistic fashion for both existing and future well locations.
- Future well locations can improve current recovery by a factor of 15 Enhanced recovery strategy was shown to increase incremental recoveries by up to 50% with waterflood implementation.
- The significant underexploited resource was discovered and optimized for future development.
