Project Summary
Subsurface Dynamics was tasked with assessing and determining the impact of measurement uncertainty and errors present in a constructed dynamic model due to deficient quality data measurements and errors embedded in measurement techniques. Most input data to the model was historic with limited production history from the recent past.
CLIENT: UNDISCLOSED
FORMATION: International, tight carbonate reservoir with high shale volume
Scope of Work
Using data provided by the Client, Subsurface Dynamics reviewed all physical measurements which were used as inputs into the static and dynamic models. Ranges of uncertainty were then applied and used as sensitivities in the dynamic simulation model. Sensitivities were reviewed at a well, formation and field level.
Result
- As a result of the study, the measurements which were of poorest quality and also had the greatest impact on field performance were determined. A set of results on a well-by-well and field basis provided a range of expected production in the future. A future field measurement plan was created and recommended which would reduce model performance uncertainty by over 200% and improve future development decisions to maximize the value of the field.
